A Bead Shortlist For Your Anchor Threads
Our matching database is finished. Meet the Anchor to Miyuki Delica PDF catalog, featuring 444 Anchor entries and bead suggestions for your next project.
We did the staring. You do the stitching. After several rounds of comparing threads and beads, we have finished the matching database behind Match & Stitch. Its Anchor-to-Miyuki results are now available as a digital color-matching catalog, so you can start with a thread number and a shortlist of bead suggestions.
If choosing beads has ever sent you back to the same color pages for the third time, you will understand why we wanted to make this. We know how easily material selection can become a project of its own.
From the comparison table to a catalog
Our previous update showed the work in progress: threads arranged for side-by-side checks, followed by comparisons with Miyuki beads. We revisited the matches to ensure the recommendations made sense when real materials met on the worktable.
That round of matching is now complete. We have used the Anchor-to-Miyuki section of the database to create a PDF with 444 Anchor entries across 447 pages, including the cover and introductory guidance. The Match & Stitch website is still under development. The catalog gives makers a way to use this part of our work now.
What you will find inside
Each thread entry includes its Anchor number, thread reference information, a digital color swatch with a HEX value, color tags, and Miyuki Delica bead codes. Regular Match suggestions provide a starting point when you want the colors to sit closely together. Selected entries also offer Creative Match suggestions.
The catalog legend shows how those elements fit together. You can use the thread number to identify the entry, review the suggested bead codes, and decide which materials merit a closer look. It serves as a reference for your design decisions.
Regular Match and Creative Match
Regular Match means the beads were selected for a close color match to the thread. Glass and embroidery thread behave differently, so a close match can still show differences in shine, depth, or texture when stitched..
Creative Match offers an intentional complement. A different finish or reflected light may suit the effect you want, even when the bead does not match the thread color. These suggestions are available for selected threads; not every entry has a Creative Match.
That distinction matters when you are planning a piece. A quiet continuation of the thread color and a decorative accent solve different design problems. The catalog names the kind of suggestion so you can choose with that intention in mind.

Let the physical materials have the final say
The thread swatches in the catalog were measured with a colorimeter, then manually checked and adjusted against actual threads. Photographs and HEX references help describe a color on screen, but they cannot reproduce everything you see in the material.
Lighting, bead transparency, coatings, and the fabric or thread underneath can affect the result. Compare physical samples whenever possible. A small stitched sample under the lighting you expect to use is a useful final check before committing to a larger piece.
The turquoise and gray stitched samples make those material differences visible. Alongside the loose threads, you can see how rows of beads add their own texture and reflected light to the stitched surface.
A reference for your next project
The catalog is a digital PDF covering Anchor threads and Miyuki Delica beads. It does not include physical materials, DMC entries, or access to the future website. Those are separate from this catalog.
We are continuing to build the website and learn which matching tasks makers need most. For now, the catalog is ready for the next time you have chosen your thread and want a clearer starting point for the beads.
